A cute G3. :D Used it thoroughly over the last years under OS 9, and it still works (and sounds) smooth as silk!

Certainly less grainy (in sound quality texture, I mean) than the MOTU interface, and even the Mbox, which I returned to the friend who was selling it to me :P

The sad part will be when I win the Lottery and buy the G5 Quad I drool for.... :P With everything and its 16Gb of RAM!! Yummm! :P

Still, The Digi is currrently (and very unfortunately) doing it' s payjob on a PC, until "FrankenMac" is finished. Then, it will be transferred to "FrankenMac", which will end up being a Dual G4/1.8 with 2Gb Ram mounted on a Gigabit Ethernet MoBo (Proufo.. any news yet on the case:: :D :D :D). Slow process to build it, but yummy enough to be worth the wait. :D

After much thinking, the Quicksilver 2002/800 (Which I bought damaged and am not able yet to find the failure source, mostly due to the severe lack of other Quicksilver owners in the area to swap parts with to test) will not be used for studio duties, thus sacrifying the 133 bus for the 100 one, but then being able to use 2Gb RAM instead of only 1.5 . It may even sound ridiculous, but when you are working on A/V, it is definitely NOT... It would probably be used for personal duties such as web browsing, mail handling scanning printing and he likes, while the Smurfie (which would be upgraded to a G3 1.1Ghz instead of the original idea of a G4/1Ghz, in part because of the bus being slowed down to 66Mhz when doing so, and on the other hand, because of the HUGE price difference (considering I will NOT be using Altivec on that one, it would not be that much worth) would become a nice FileServer, with 2 120Gb HHDs and 2 80Gb HDDs, all of them currently living inside a PC (which I plan to discard as soon as the whole project is finished).

Now I only have to sort, to do so.. the "small" detail of the Rev. 1 MoBo on Smurfie. Probably a Sonnet Tempo ATA-133...

Best wishes to you too!

You mean DigiDesign support *lied* to me?!! ;-)
Uh! I'm dashed!
Out of curiosity, are you using a G5 or G4?

Best wishes on your business, Juan.
