That procedure assumes a 3-1/2" zip which is supplied in a 5-1/4" carrier, which OEM drives are NOT so supplied. The result of the procedure is removal of the 5-1/4" carrier, and installation of the drive into the Zip bay, using the fasteners which are provided. The B&W's lower bay is intended for a Zip, and for a Zip, only. Hwoever, if a 3-1/2" hard drive is to be installed in a B&W Zip bay, the "dimples" which are used to elevate the Zip drive for cooling reasons must be insulated using 1" wide "filament" strapping tape, and the drive should be simply slipped into place with the cables securing the drive. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
