The G4/733 has 256 MB RAM. CCorsair wants to upgrade the RAM and has
updated from OS 9.1.1 to 9.2.2. It is not clear whether CCorsair
upgraded this Mac to OS X or is talking about someone else's machines.

CCorsair: Have you upgraded your machine to OS X? If not, and you
want to make the move at a later date, OS X 10.3 Panther and 10.4
Tiger are your practical choices. 10.3 should have 512 MB RAM, and
10.4 should have 768. I would recommend at least 1 GB RAM in either
case. You can install OS X on the hard drive that runs OS 9.2.2
without erasing/reformatting it. But if you do erase/reformat, make
sure you check the little box in Disk Utility to install the OS 9
drivers. Then, I would install OS 9 first and OS X after that, but
some people say the order does not matter except for the very first
versions of OS X.

You can continue to run all the OS 9 applications by booting into OS
9. You can also boot into OS X, configure for Classic Mode, and then
run most OS 9 applications satisfactorily in Classic Mode while booted
in OS X. But Final Cut and other heavy duty software may not be happy
in Classic Mode.

For peripheral devices, some old printers and scanners that run fine
with OS 9 will not work well in OS X. Most new printers will not work
with OS 9, so people may be forced to run in Classic Mode where OS X
is handling the printer while you need to print from the OS 9
application.
