On my QS Dual 1GHz, I did a Nuke & Pave, returning the system to 10.5.5.
Along the way, everything appeared to be fine: Installed my M-Audio driver, waited a few restarts ... Installed my Logitech Wireless KB & Mouse driver, waited a few restarts ... Installed my Yamaha motif es8 USB-MIDI driver, waited a few restarts ... Everything appeared fine. Now after a couple of days down, on Restart, I'm "back" to getting a blue screen on Startup. It eventually resolves into the Desktop, but my M-Audio driver didn't load, and I noticed my wireless mouse battery needed recharging. After replacing the mouse batteries ... "IOKit" is shown as where the system pauses because it doesn't "quiesce" ... looking at the system restart using command-V. I did shut down my system without turning off the Yamaha motif es8, which was connected by USB-MIDI a few days ago. Trying to access the Apple System Profiler system log is causing a kp again. Suggestions? Is the occasional dead mouse adding an unnecessary complication? Other thoughts?
