We have run all the invoices for our biz for many years with what to me is
the work horse of printers - the Epson Stylus 740. I think we paid $40 for
it about 9 years ago. I have 10 generic cartridges I fill at a time with
generic ink. I have run well over a litre of black ink through those little
cartridges, and it still prints like the day it was born. About 4 cases of
paper have gone through it. We recycle used paper (print on backsides) when
possible, which means sometimes a turned corner will cause a terriffic
crunching jam, but it just pulls out of it and keeps on chugging.
If someone offerered me $40 for it today I'd say no thanks.
