My house was recently burglarized, the person did me a favor by
stealing my 1 yr. old HP scanner. I would stay away from HP because
the geniuses over at HP don't seem to give a damn about Mac users,
they make their crap just compatible enough to say that it can be used
with a Mac. Their software crashes after your third or fourth scan
consistantly. I picked up an older HP scanner on Craigslist for cheap
till I could afford a new scanner again. I thought that I could
probably use the same software that I had loaded on my G4 from the
previous scanner, nope couldn't. had to uninstall the new software &
download an older version from HP. Okay I did all that, same crap all
over again, scanner software crashes after 3 or 4 scans. I just bought
a new Epson & all is now good. Apparently the engineers that write the
software for Epson aren't boarder line retarded like the HP flunkies.
