I agree with you wholeheartedly. As soon as I saw "App store for Mac
OS X" I said "oh, $*%&.

The app store concept is perfect for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and at
least decent on the iPad, but on a full-blown computer? No way!

I don't need Apple to "make it simpler" to install applications. The
Mac OS already is the easiest OS to install apps on - a simple drag to
the application folder. There's nothing wrong with that method. It
seems like Apple's trying to improve something that does not need
improvement, perhaps since they're so obsessed with iOS. So much for
"Back to the Mac."

...That is if the App Store is successful. I honestly don't think
developers of paid apps will be on board with it, with Apple taking
their cut.

Fullscreen applications are nice - in certain situations. If I'm
focusing on a task for a long period of time, (ie video editing,) it's
OK, but if I'm switching between applications often, I don't want to
mess with keyboard commands and mouse gestures (I'm not getting a
Magic Mouse. They can pry my Mighty Mouse out of my cold, dead hands.)
I can't see anything quicker than moving my mouse and clicking on a
window.

Oh, and another thing - that whole "iPad-like spring board" - What a
fail. If I want to see all my apps in one place I OPEN THE EFFING
APPLICATION FOLDER.

Lion is not an improvement to Mac OS X. It's a failed attempt to make
the Mac something it's not - a handheld, touchscreen mobile device.

Unless I can use Lion the same way I use Snow Leopard, I think I'll
stick with Snow Leopard until it becomes what Tiger is now. And if Mac
OS X continues to go downhill, I'll run Windows and use my computer
the way _I_ want to - not the way Apple wants me to.

<End semi-comprehensible rant>
