The only damage sudden power failure can cause to a modern computer is if it's caught mid-write to the HDD, which can cause the kinds of directory issues Disk Utility or DIsk Warrior can fix. (and the loss of everything that's not saved, of course). HDD's for decades have been 'fail safe' on power failure, no more head crashes.
