Hi Jim, Yeah, if you have the system requirements I think that is a good idea. Just a note to everyone VB.NET 2005 requires Windos XP SP2 to run. If you are on Bookshare I believe they may have one or two books on VB.NET programming. Also safari.oreilly.com is another good place to scope out books on the topic. What you will want is a book that has one of those chapters that covers the differences from VB 6 and VB.NET.
