Which game? castaways is on Aprone's website at
http://www.kaldobsky.com/audiogames/ while core exiles ais an internet based
space game and can be found at
http://www.core-exiles.com/
Both also have pages on audiogames.net and are list on phil vlasac's pcs
games database. as well, indeed while I don't mind answering questions like
this it is a little irritating for Phil and for myself and the other staff
to spend time compiling indexes of accessible games for people not to use
them.
all the best,
dark.

where could I find this game

Up until castaways I confess I'd never seen the point of civ games, since
as
Decota said all my experience was with the browser mmorpg variety which
came
down to sit and watch numbers grow and then be beaten up by someone else.
I will say though after castaways with it's unique style, the need to
play
creatively and judge situations on the hoof as well as plan for the
future,
I'm all for a civ style game, indeed I have friendswho are huge fans of
games like the civilization series, as well as the awsome freeware dwarf
fortress.
I would love to see Aprone develope a castaways 2 which was more a
complete
civ game and you could build a full scale city etc.
Regarding online games though with research etc, while it's certainly not
a
civ game and is closer to the castle management in something like lords
and
knights, (though in an sf setting), I will say I'm loving the new Genesis
addon for core exiles, having to research differnt topics, add buildings
to
produce energy and manufacture resources, and then eventually have a
fully
working installation where you produce war mechs and ships and such to
fight
against the Ai invaders. it takes literally months to setup, but the
setup
I'm finding lots of fun particularly since as this is Core exiles other
players aren't going to ruin all your work or pick on you just because
they
can, ---- well not unless you could bumping up commodity prices on the
galactic markit :D.
As I said while deffinitely not a civ game the management is of a sort
of
similar style with research etc, though i'd still love to see a propper
single player version be accessible.
Beware the Grue!
