Hi Dakotah: Up until a couple of days ago I was on the Eyes Free mailing list, and I believe my information is as up to date as it needs to be. I seriously looked into Android game development, and decided for the moment it is not for me. I think that is what you, Josh, and some others perhaps are overlooking. I did the necessary research, checked out a few phones, and decided in the end it was not very economic from a business perspective.
That is not to say my mind is absolutely set in stone. On the contrary I like where Google is heading with accessibility, I am of course well versed in Java, and I may revisit the issue once KitKat etc becomes more common on phones and tablets. Plus as I am interested in commercially targeting the platform I'd really like to see more blind users for Android than there appears to be currently. Also as I do not personally own any Android phones or tablets to test my games and other software I'd have to invest in one, and any software I may or may not write in the future for the platform would be predicated on the fact that I would buy one for use and would have a personal desire to see more games for the platform. Until these things happen I'm holding off for a while. HTH --- Gamers mailing list __ [email protected] If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [email protected].
