Hi Simon, Well, that all depends on perspective. It may have been something of a loss in the beginning, but once developers like myself knew for certain someone was using such an expensive controller we could add support for it, and use you as a beta tester. Therefore in the long run buying it may be a benefit to you and the community as well. As a developer we can't just write support for something we can't test directly or indirectly. Not if an end user expects the support to be completely accurate.
