Hi Dark, I think the term 3D can mean allot of different things to different people. For example, many sighted games has only a 2D environment, but has 3D graphics. Well, sighted gamers might call it a 3D game even though only the graphics are rendered in 3D. An audio game might be 2D in true environment like SOD or GTC, but the audio is rendered in 3D. It is technically a 2D game to a programmer/developer, but gamers tend to call them 3D games cause for us 3D audio is our equal to 3D graphics. A game like Sarah has a 2D environment, but I am certain Phil uses variables and true false conditions to make the game seam like 3D when Sarah is flying on a broom. That is a good solution if you want a game to seam like 3D, but use a 2D based game engine. Now as for sighted games some of them really have a true 3D environment as well as graphics and sounds. For example the Star Wars games. You are able to jump onto catwalks above you, cutgrates open under your feet and jump through into rooms below, and all of that is great, but difficult to make accessible since the audio sometimes isn't that specific. I have decided for that reason to convert my Star Wars project over to a 2D engine just because the concept of moving around in a true 3D environment is nothing less than confusing when you can't see the rooms etc.
