Actually Elementalism has more uses outside of combat than in. Granted they're during quests, but that's where it really seems to shine. In combat the damage isn't as impressive. And don't even use Telekinesis in combat. That's another power whose usefulness is more outside combat, since it generally does little damage to enemies. Restoration's another power that truly shines when used outside of combat, since you regain more stamina.
