Hi Chrissy and all. Yeah I had a heck of a tough time with this too. Basically what I have found works is, after you hear the sound it makes when you are five steps from a monster is to quickly tap the right arrow four times then jump and you squash them pretty often.Same basic strategy works for powerups except that you need to actually move five steps so you are underneath it.
