hello matheus,
If there is some interest, I can set up an announcements list for messages to be sent across with updates on vv, but I'll give you a bit of a rundown on what's going on. For the past few years, I've been experimenting with a mud, which was called Vertigo. It switched themes a few times, and even code bases, in my attempt to find somewhere where I could start developing comfortably. I would add bits and pieces, and then end up rewriting them because I didn't feel good about the way things were written, and how they were put together. I've finally found a builder who I can work really well with, and we've turned vertigo into VV, (Violence and violation). I'm copying some code from vertigo, but the biggest part of it is being rewritten to fit the scheme we're trying to put together.
Currently, I'm rewriting main frameworks such as mobs, etc.
Currently there isn't a whole lot of anything to test--combat is being worked on as we get ideas, and frameworks are being built for the game. I will post a message here, and on the announcement list if interest is shown about when it's going to be open for public.

Thanks,
Tyler Littlefield

I'll address the questions, though they may have been retorical.
The mud I'm developing will more than likely end up creating it's own player
base.
With the builder I have, lots of thought is being put in to it, so I expect
it will spread via word of mouth, and as our actions as an admin, and not
off some other list with angry people.
As for the player base, I'm not cadering specifically to the blind. I am
making it a playable game, and won't be relying on maps and etc, but I don't
expect it to be a blind-only mud; I will work for other player bases, and
incorperate ideas that will gain more players.
As a result, if people decide not to connect because of my comments about
humanity, that's their perogative. I probably shouldn't have said everything
I did, but it was said anyway. There is a difference here, and off-list.
Here, Mike is the civilized human being that others would like him to be.
Off list, he's threatened me with tons of stuff, like being hacked, etc. I'm
not particularly worried about it, as apparently my internet connection
still stays. His antics extend to flaming me (with massive amounts of chars on other games) etc etc. Now that that's out of the way, and I'm sure we'll get messages from all his friends denying it all, what was said was more out
of anger than an attempt to kill off another coder in the community.
That's all for me on this thread.

Thanks,
Tyler Littlefield

Hi tyler you are developing a mud right now. You want players and need
players to make it worth while and make you feel your hard work was worth
it. However if when it does come out people are continueing to spread
negative comments about your project with no feedback given to improve
your project how would you feel? Also how do you suggest you attract
players when you are making one of the player bases upset at you? Everyone
has opinion of a lot of things. However why bite the hand that feeds you?
You need this community and we need developers even if it means you dont
like or disagree with the project they are working on. The negativity is
so old and ridiculous. Respect other people and treat them the way you
want to be treated.

Hi,
Just wanted to let you all that Humanity MOO is back up and running
thanks
to James for the hosting.

Host: nova.the-jdh.com
Port: 4000

As far as progress goes, I'll be coding a new space system, which will be
a
major project. It'll lose the Miriani feel and have more of a realistic
interface and concept similar to Slipgate (the concept of a wide open,
sectorless space with full 3D movement). I also plan to implement an
energy
system, which will make eating/drinking a necessity. Any other
suggestions
would be appreciated.

Regards,
Mike

If needed, I have a place to host it already picked out. Actually it was
going to be the box I'd use to develop and possibly run my own, but it
can
be reasigned accordingly.

Hi,

Because of server problems, Humanity MOO is temporarily down, and will
need
to find a new place to host. I may have a place to host it temporarily
but
it may move again, so it may be a few days before its playable again.
Sorry
for the inconvenience.
