Yes. one symple way to cut this down is buy a better scan unit. There are
those that show more ships, and those that show ships of a certain
type, ---- Ie, threats or commercial.
Also remember though, you can have two scanners at once, ---- so long as
they have diffferent numbers. I have a sensor sweet 1 and a sensor sweet two
in two of my system slots which together give a total of 7 ships per pop.
I might have to forgo one if I buy a targiting module, ---- but for the
moment this works extremely well indeed and finds mission targits quickly.
I also have a litle Hal trick to cut scan times for missions which may or
may not work with other screen readers. I use Hal's in built find text
function to look for the name of my targit ship. Then I can just alternate
tabbing to the "repeat scan area" button and pressing F3 and enter to look
up the ship name. This can scan pretty quickly and stop things from being
quite as much a pain.
