I'm not sure exactly what happened. Could've been the discs or the motor,
I'm not a hardware technician. I'm just letting Simon (the data recovery
specialist) do what he needs to. If he needs to retrieve the data physically
off of the disks that's what he'll do. He better have a result though for
£365, that'll completely empty my savings! *Smile*

is get a Mac for Time Machine. While that's good backup built into the

windows has alternatives for backing up, and the average price for a Mac I
wouldn't pay just to get good backup software like Superduper or Time
Machine. I'm done here. To end, I'll say that getting a Mac won't stop an
