Interesting that you mention your son playing packman tom. A friend of mine
was actually complaining that the modern, hyper graphical, hyper 3D games
are so aimed at a particular agegroup, getting young children into playing
games, or playing games together with them is damnably difficult due to the
fact that very young children of 3-6 don't have such good spacial or visual
coordination skills.
apparently her four year old nephew absolutely loves original mario brothers
precisely for this reason. No complication, just walk and stomp.
I actually wonder if I'd have got into games at all were I growing up right
now, ---- and not just because of the vision angle.
