well nvda can't read everything.
it doesn't really read winamp either or eudora7 or some things.
ONe difference with nvda over others is it relys exclusively on msaa, some hooking and vertual buffers.
Most stuff it relys upon is already in the system.
THere are no graphics intercepts and no extra drivers to load or any issues with those or anything like that.
As I said compare that nvda to jaws and you will be verry dissapointed!
You have 2 choices
1. nvda is a pile of crap and jaws is good.
2 or don't compare it with any comercial reader at all.
Its got its own class in some ways, relying on what is in the system rather on its own supports.
I realise for some of us blind people this is gona be hard.
For the newer generations there is no use but for those born in the 80s or earlier, untill recently 1995 and up maybe really 2003 there was no actual accessability to anything.
everything was or rather is used via our own supports.
Back in the day we used synth speech coded for hardware boxes etc.
In fact when windows started we were like that till probably 98-2000 when we started using software speech so for some of us thats not to far ago. Basically if you are a person that knows what dos looked like and knows what jaws for dos, or mastertouch, keysoft and keynote gold sa are or were then you can be excused. Its only the current generations of blinks 2005 and up which have never seen any old system in their lives.

But it is not reading msn. Jaws is good than it. This is my thot.

Subject: [Audyssey] Windows screen reader software?

Hi folks,

My apologies if I bring up a question that has already been discussed to
death, but I don't see anything about this in a casual browsing of the
archives.

At first I thought I didn't have any screen reader software, so I
couldn't test the accessibility of my RSW website directly. But then I
realized that every Mac has VoiceOver built-in, and it's quite nice! I've

been going through my web pages with VoiceOver, and I've found a number
of minor issues that I'll be correcting.

But I'd hate to fine-tune my pages to VoiceOver's quirks only, without
knowing about similar quirks in other software. In particular, what do
Windows users typically use to browse the web? I see that Narrator is
built-in to Windows, but it's almost unusable. Even Narrator itself
recommends users buy a third-party program instead.

So, if I were to purchase one such third-party program for the purpose of

testing my website's accessibility under Windows, which program should it

be?

Thanks!
David
