I doubt anything will get done about the battles to be honest, I already
talked to the dev about sprucing up the battle descriptions and he basically
said "Nah, noone would read them." So we're out on that front. I haven't
been playing much because my support status ran out, and support stats makes
battles much less tedious and much more bearable by introducing hot keys
that can get you through them much more quickly. But since I don't have any
money to toss at the game to get support status anymore, and I don't feel
like slogging through long battles, even to see the new story content I
haven't seen yet, I don't think I'll be getting back into this one for a
bit. Still it's a great game, and it holds it's own for a long time if you
can get used to how slow the battle systems are and you don't mind some of
the more tedious quests, there are some with multi-level dungeons where
really all you do is click next and fight monsters over and over and over
till you get through it, it can be up to 50 battles in a row. That's when
support status would really help.

Subject: [Audyssey] Puppet nightmares brouser game
Hi.
This is a brouser game that Shadowdragon found a while ago and has sinse
talked to the developer about access.
It can be found at http://www.puppetnightmares.com/index.php?sh=23512/
For those who don't know, this is another of the creature command battle
type games, in some ways like Monster breeder, but far, far deeper, with
probably the most complex and interesting battle system I've seen in a
brouser game being that you command three creatures called soul puppets in
a party and fight a party of enemies, all of whome will take actions and
turns in battle, can use skills or styles or just attack.
Elemental weaknesses, ranged vs magic, lots of generating equips that are
randomly created, Status effects it's all here!
It can't be denied that the battle system, ---- and indeed the hole game
has pages that are somewhat complex to navigate, simply because of the
amount of info there is (especially in battles). Shadowdragon found it
worked with jaws 12, At the time I was having extreme problems accessing
the pages with Supernova, however simply changing the dom mode setting
from none cashing to cashing did the job. This is something necessary for
a few, very complicated tabulated pages and necessary with some games like
Warriors 2, --- I indeed don't know why I didn't think of it earlier :D.
The other thing I found about the game, is that when it has a none
standard link that says "click here" or asks to click some text say a name
and description of a creature to select it, you have to be quite deep into
the text for the hot spot to work.
So, instead of clicking the text that says "click here to exit" I
literally had to move across to the word "here"
All that being said, everything in the game is indeed labled correctly
now, and the complexities of navigation are nothing beyond what has been
seen before.
I can't speak too much about the game sinse I've not got into it yet, but
pluses include a very detailed story, lots of creature and item crafting
and progression options, a really! deep combat system (all of which I've
not yet worked out myself), side quests, humerus npcs and an interesting
setting.
The only problem I have with it is that information content in text is a
bit lacking in the battles, which makes them rather uninteresting to read
from a text point of view, and in some cases slightly hard to follow.
What I mean is in battles your told
"So and so used wind hammer on so and so" but other than looking at the
text which says things like "atk goes up, minus 100 hp" your not given any
description of what something does, indeed your not even told when a
creature is koed in battle but have to go and look at their hp being zero.
This not only makes battles rather uninteresting to read, ---- interesting
though they are to play, but also makes it a very slow process having to
look up what any skills and styles you use, and any skills and styles used
by the enemies are in the various reference pages.
I may well contact the developer about this matter, once I've tried a few
more battles and got to grips with things.
Hopefully though this will be a really great addition to the roster of
accessible rp games either way.
Oh and yes, the above link is my referral link to the game, so I would be
obliged if anyone interested click it. ]
