personally i just use avg pc tuneup for cookie deletion, defragging,
fixing disk errors, registry fixing, removing temporary files and the like
(it's got some very handy file shredding and disk wiping tools if I ever
need them too), and the full version of avg for antivirus and antispyware,
plus the antirootkit scan.
These are commercial programs, but I've been very happy with the way
they've both worked, indeed sinse I've used avg pc tuneup it's literally
doubled my download speed as well as generally speedng everything up,
especially at startup.
Beware the grue!
