ms didn't last with ibm either.

Read a book on Microsoft. They didn't get the job, it was bought. IBM already had there version of dos running and you had OS2 running around then too.

well everyone uses windows tom, everything runs on it.
The same would have been true if apple was the dominant system.
or even dos.
In fact if ms had never gotten the job of making dos with ibm back in 1980 we would still be on cpm or some sort of unix, not linux, unix.

Hi Darren,

Let's not go there. Windows has a lot of problems besides the fact it
has a porely designed partition table. I could write the book on
registry errors, waisted space do to temperary internet files, the
junk Windows leaves behind when removing programs, etc and sadly that
won't change most Windows user's minds on the OS. What I find crazy is
the fact that more than 80% of computer users use and like Windows
even though its probably the most poorrly designed and unstable
operating system on the market. The really sad part is very few
Windows users realize that the programs they use like registry
cleaners, antivirus programs, spyware software, disk clean up
utilities, etc all are because of the short comings of the OS itself
and its like putting a bandaid on a cut that really needs stitches.
