>From a developer standpoint, it can sometimes be really hard to know
when you've crossed the line into money grubbing, or if you've added
something bad. One of the reasons I've been so slow to add new things
to AA is that I'm constantly concerned that it'll cross the line, or
permanently damage the way the game is played. I think it's helped a
lot that we don't sell powerful equipment at all, unless you count
tensors.

It's also helped that there's a public money market that allows
players to trade credits and gold pretty quickly and easily. It's
hard to take a high level player seriously about credits being unfair,
when that high level player is sitting on around 50 dollars worth of
gold.

I'm firmly of the belief that I want AA to be free for all to play. If
the game is good enough, people help support it; if it's not, then I
need to work harder on it.
