This is addressed in trunk, r1460: http://ganglia.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ganglia?view=rev&revision=1460 It has been proposed for backporting to 3.1.x--just need one more person to sign off on it. The patch itself isn't complicated, and could be added by hand if you need it sooner than the next 3.1.x release. > At another site I got around this problem by giving the gmetad host a > special /etc/hosts site that ensured gethostbyaddr always resolved to > a simple hostname first, but that's not an option here because hosts > files are centrally distributed and need to stay in sync. That's a clever idea. As a work around, is there any chance that you could use an augmented /etc/hosts for the gmetad system? If you're using a central management tool (like cfengine or puppet, for example), it should be fairly simple to add additional entries for one host, while keeping the rest of the systems in lock-step. -- Jesse Becker GPG Fingerprint -- BD00 7AA4 4483 AFCC 82D0 2720 0083 0931 9A2B 06A2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Ganglia-general mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-general
