Good point. In my case, perhaps through coincidence, I've only ever run gmetad on a host that had a full /etc/hosts - at a small site, manually maintained (as I said earlier, to make gmetad see hostnames without domains), and at a larger site, auto-generated from the DNS or from some source files that are also used to generate DNS data. > But anyways, I am not proposing to use UUID as the default, but am > just supporting that it is a nice feature to have (and other users > have voiced their support). As an optional feature, it'd be no problem. -- Cos ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Ganglia-general mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-general
