The easiest way to troubleshoot a problem with protocol X not being able
to get out (or in, for that matter) is to simply watch your firewall
logs while trying to use protocol X. You'll see what it's trying to do,
which port it's trying to go out from, which port the host that it
contacts it trying to send back on, etc. You will then be able to make a
decision as to whether or not you should open those ports as per your
security model.

Subject: [gb-users] GTA vs. MSN Messenger

Hello all,

Does anyone know of how to modify the Gnatbox firewall system in order
to be able to use the voice conversation features within MSN Messenger?

Currently, I am able to use MSN Messenger to type-chat with collegeaues
using a basic install of Gnatbox , but am unable to speak to them due to
a restriction of the firewall. Using a direct connection from a
internet enabled PC allows this, so I have at least narrowed down the
problem to the firewall.

Has anyone else found this?

Thanks in anticipation, and I hope you can help!
