opening safari offline has me sign in to google docs and shows i'm offline. the next page is the generic google docs page, then on the upper line: "settings" "offline help" "help" then the red "Loading. . ." that only goes away once the connection is restored.
it seems a little variable, as repeating this a couple of times gives different results. sometimes my docs show on the left and i can access a partial form of the word or excel file. when i'm not connected, though, it never gives me the full document. [firefox has me sign on, and then takes me to my google docs correctly.] -db On Jan 26, 9:12 pm, Jeremy Moskovich <[email protected]> wrote: > What happens if you close Safari, turn off your wireless connection, reopen > Safari and then navigate back to the docs URL? > > Best regards, > Jeremy > > On Mon, Jan 26, 2009 at 9:09 PM, db2 <[email protected]> wrote: > > > jeremy, here's my info: > > > Safari: Version 3.2.1 (5525.27.1) > > > offline with safari--i can send a screenshot if it would be helpful: > > folders show to the left, but none are clickable or show any of my > > documents. this appears to be kind of a generic google documents page. > > on the upper right of the page is a red box with white text that says > > "Loading." the page continues trying to load until i leave the page. > > > once i clicked off airport and went immediately to one of my > > documents. part of the information showed up this time, but much of > > the document was blank and there were no scroll bars. i tried this > > with one word and one excel document. > > > firefox: i installed on firefox and it seems to work correctly. i open > > firefox infrequently so would prefer to get safari working. > > > thanks for your help, > > -db > > > On Jan 26, 8:27 pm, Jeremy Moskovich <[email protected]> wrote: > > > When you say that it doesn't show any docs can you describe in a little > > more > > > detail what you see exactly? > > > > What version of Safari are you using? > > > > Does this work for you in Firefox? > > > > Best regards, > > > Jeremy > > > > On Mon, Jan 26, 2009 at 2:24 PM, db2 <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > i'm a new gears user on mac os 10.5.6, macbook pro, safari, using > > > > google docs. > > > > i see the green syncing and synched icons as i'm working online. tried > > > > to access offline for the first time today and just got "loading" in > > > > the right upper corner of the page for a prolonged period at > > > > docs.google.com. it wouldn't show any of my docs at all. i tried to > > > > access it by google docs.app and by just my bookmarked google docs > > > > page. > > > > > i'm going to try firefox, but would love to make this accessible via > > > > safari. > > > > > suggestions? > > > > thanks, > > > > -db > > > > > On Jan 4, 7:15 pm, Jeremy Moskovich <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > Hi Aday, > > > > > > Sounds like the Gears plugin is installed and is working correctly on > > > > your > > > > > machine. > > > > > > When you say that things don't work can you be a little more specific > > > > about > > > > > what exactly doesn't work for you. > > > > > > Do you get an option to enable offline access for Docs or reader?
