Wonderful! Glad I could help. I find it ironic that I am now placed in a
similar position as you are. I still have the leopard gecko that can't shed
properly. The shed goes into his eyes and appears to be affixed to the eye
its self. I removed it the last time and pulled out a wad of shed that
looked like retained spectacles on a snake. Go figure! I don't think it is
normal for an gecko with eyelids to sheds its eye, like a snake or non
lidded gecko. It is very strange.
Now that I have found the eyes, they look rather shriveled, and recessed
back into the head. They appear to be nonfunctional. He still has some
swelling at the back of the mouth, but it has gone down. I guess if things
do not improve, I can always euthanize him. I am tempted to have a necropsy
performed. I am very curious as to what his problem is. We are having a
clinical pathologist come to our clinic to perform a necropsy on some
geckos that have an unusual parasite. Might be a good time to have her look
at this guy.
