Hello-
Here in the land of the lawsuit (USA), people rather blame someone else when
ever the law allows them to. Rather than admit to themselves that they killed
an animal they rather blame the advisor. I must say tho, I have heard of many
lawsuits over ridiculous stuff, but I have never actually seen anyone get
sued over something incorrect being posted to the internet.
People fret about it, webmasters quake at the threat of a suit, and I guess
your site could easily be shut down by court order. But how, for example, can
I sue someone in Sweden regarding advice given that I used in NYC? The best I
could hope for would be to get the advisor banned from a site.
I don't know about other countries, but here there are way too many frivilous
lawsuits.
Of course you could just preface your advive with something like- "I'm no vet
but this is what works for me...."
I'd like to hear about any internet lawsuits- especially reptile related ones.
Jason
