Not to be crass, but is dispensing drug information to a person you do not know,
about an animal you have never examined, that resides in a collection you know
nothing about in the best interest of any animal? It may sound black and white
but the single best advice this person could receive is to seek competant
veterinary care. If all it took was knowing the dose of panacur - I would have
another job.
Having said that I do beleive you are honestly attempting to be helpful - though
having had to clean up after someone (too many someones) who took too much
medical advice from the "disinformation highway" - I respectfully suggest that
your actions are not likely to acheive the effect you desire. Shotgunning
dewormers has its place (under very particiular instances and with very
particular followup protocols) - but there is more too it than your post
describes. What you descibe will engender a false sense of security. In
medicine this is a very very dangerous thing.

Nope - sorry. This list is perceived to be made up by people with superior
knowledge. If you give advise in this forum it is reasonable that folks would
assume that you know what you are doing, and to follow said advise. Just
because you do not have a DVM after your name does not releive you of the
responsibility for your advise. While I would be surprised if anyone sued you
over a gecko in these circumstances, you still have an ethical obligation to
give accurate and complete info.

If you have to guess - you shouldn't even try. simply refer the folks to people
who do not need to guess.

FWIW Misty is not a veterinarian, lisenced or otherwise. She is a wildlife
rehabilitator.
