I've read a lot about reptile euthanasia...and there is some debate
(obviously)...there are those that think that freezing could be quite
painful, as fluids and organs crystallize before death.
Reptiles present special problems due to their metabolisms...I think
asphyxiation may take too long....decapitation is not only grisly, but not
as effective or quick as for mammal...massive blunt-force trauma...i.e.
crushing the head completely and instantly...may work...
But personally, that's unacceptable to me. If it must be euthanasia, I'd
rather spend the money on lethal injection. That's part of the
responsibility one takes on when taking on an animal of any sort, right?
