Well.I am a firm supporter of life plants. For several reasons, being a
plant-hobbyist is one of them. One point is,Phelsuma's like to sit on broad
banana-leaves. If you cannot provide them with that, you should supply
someting like that.. a wide smooth surface.. bamboo will do, but a front
glass plane even better. Sansevieria plants are liked by a lot and I have
had lots of succes with Birds nest ferns.. The smoothness is quite
essential.
In my vivaria I have had little problem with keeping clean, because of the
plants. Actually, I have had several vivaria for over ten years, which
housed geckoes, and never had to clean any of them. No foul smells or
whatever. A healthy enviroinment can be made in a (relatively) small
vivarium, if you apply the right plants and light and water.. On the other
hand, I also had very little juveniles becoming adults,as they were
absolutelyimpossible to catch in such vivaria, hat is by me.. the parents
had less problems...

Onderwerp: [Gecko] artificial vs. real

> The reasons I feel reluctant to use real ones are contamination
