AFAIK, the only UV tubes implicated in eye damage are the germicidal
UV ones, which emit a lot of UVC (shorter wavelength than B or A).
When working in an area with these tubes, you have to wear glasses
for safety.  Nowadays, the health and safety people probably recommend
sunblock on your skin, too!
