Oh dear this topic is so sad.
Freezing, think of how it feels when we have frostbite, they have to feel at
least a bit of that even if they are small...
The pain of an injection, well, I had to do this with my african fat tail a
few months ago. We tried meds and everything to get him better and he was
plainly suffering and when they gave him that needle, I cried for 2 hours
cuz he winced when my vet gave it to him. But the peace afterwards and I
felt I did the right thing.

Subject: [gecko]...Euthanasia for Distressed Geckos...

Hi ~

Sherron from Hawaii has recently requested info on the least physically
painful way to put geckos down when it appears nothing can be done to either
improve or sustain their lives. I have heard that freezing is not the way
to go. Can someone out there recommend the best way for small lizards?

Thanks,
Elizabeth
