Hi,

First of all, I updated the German translation. Now all except of the
photographic notions should be translated.

I did find one finally. It is fixed now. (Hmpf, just see in the moment
that I did not mention it in the change log. I wanted to do that, but
now it just come with the German translation update.)

Then the hotkeys menu should be changed.

To the README, I think it would be nice to have it translated for the
User to see the about and so.

Well, just read old GQView-Data when they exists and convert them to new
metadata if they _don't_ exists. Maybe with option to delete the old
metadata after writing.

Oh, that was specified to the german translation of fix words only.
Actually there are two notions I do not know how to translate:
- - pan view -- That whould be "Tafelansicht" if I translate them. That
sounds very stupid so I use '"panview"' in the translation.
- - sidecar -- The correct translation would be "Seitenwagen" which only
makes sense for motor cycles. There is absolutely no meaning for that
in conjunction to files. I use the approach above to use it in the
  translation.

No, I do think that a checkbox make sense for this setting. But it
should be changeable.

I didn't see a template. Maybe cause I start geeqie from the source
directory only.

I think a common use case to get a new desktop file is to search it by
google and download it to the desktop or the $HOME. It would be nice for
a button to load such a file (and copy it to a usual location for
geeqie).

Done.

Ah, didn't try that.

Yea, I believe that. No I do not have any idea at the moment. Otherwise
I had come up with a patch.

Well, maybe I have one for the resize problem. But I have no idea how to
add a persistent empty line to a list.

Ah, ok.

I think of such kind.

Well, lets add another notes and errors I found recently:

- - I do not know if I mention this, but I get many errors like "Failed to
convert Exif.GPSInfo.GPSTimeStamp to Xmp.exif.GPSTimeStamp, unable to
parse '2009/1 4/1 20/1'" in the terminal when opening a file with GPS
  informations.

- - I found a bad bug. When I do not have a autosave of meta data enabled
and edit some of some pictures and then rename one of the pictures
without saving the meta data in front, geeqie trows a exception and
break. (needless to mention that all changes to the meta data are
  lost.)

- - The description "Write the same description tags to all files in a
group" is not clear from a use view. Is there meant the picture group
(1-6 which is new in geeqie) or the group of images I have selected or
the grouped files for sidecars. That should be clarified. (At the
moment I myself are not sure what it mean (and I am to lazy to look at
  the source. ;-))

- - What about line breaks (\n) in texts for dialog boxes? I think they
should be removed at the most locations. It makes no sense to use it
for controlling the line wide as in localized settings the line will
  change in length extremely.

- - There are some source with commented out localizes. (#if 0) That only
makes the work of translators more difficult especially if it is not
clear, what a text should mean. ("Add Alt" for example) We have the
stuff in svn so I think we can remove that sections complete (mostly).

Regards
   Klaus
