Hi all,

We are really keen to adopt gcc 4.7 as a minimum requirement, thus enabling the
following c++11 features:

1. Explicit virtual overrides
2. Non-static data member initializers
3. Template aliases
4. Delegating constructors

Switching to gcc 4.7 would also allow us to finally transition from --std=c++0x
to --std=c++11.

All major distros are shipping with gcc >= 4.7, also for LTS releases. The
potential challenge is RHE6 and its derivatives (and perhaps even the odd
Ubuntu 12.04 installation).

Any major objections? Thoughts?

Thanks,

Andreas
