I will look into that. I had a very funky malware/spybot on my machine, after that the old service wouldn't load. Used to work, so I uninstalled ver 3 of MYSQL and installed 5. Says cannot connect or cannot find service. For giggles I loaded the same software on another machine and it works. (sam 4.2.2 & MY SQL 5.0) I didn't change any passwords just the install location of MYSQL is different.
