Well 5.0 Installs Standard under Program Files... the old ones were in
MYSQL... tried a complete after tape backup install... No Good. Same thing..
is there anything else I can do or should I just log a ticket? I have too
much configured to just blow away this pc from scratch. If I knew how to
bring up the command shell I could atleast try to get the databases up and
running

Thanks

Bill

I know that doesnt help your situation, but at a minimum you should be
using MySQL 5.0

More then likely your mysql config file may have been left on the other
pc under
C:\WINDOWS
Mysql 3 installers stored these files there, so look for my.ini on the
other pc.
However that may not even help your situation as migration from mysql 3
-> mysql 5
will undoubtedly have some unexpected issues.

My advice, start fresh and clean, if you need access to old stats from
mysql 3,
keep it installed on another machine thats not mission critical but
affords you access
to the data when needed.
