I took a quick look at your documentation. Just being a bit nit picky here, but KDE and Gnome are not windows managers. Instead, they are desktop environments. Anyhow, that is neither here nor there. The paragraph about not doing the day to day stuff logged in as 'root'...well, that should sufficiently scare the kee-rap (as John might say) out of a new user. It gets the point across at the expense of a mild heart attack. You may want to mention freshmeat.net as one of the sites where software can be obtained. Also, you might want to mention some of the better newbie books available. All in all, the writing was very well done and concise. I was not overwhelmed by anything that I read. However, perhaps you might want to find someone with no Linux experience to read the documentation to ensure this.
