I was thinking about the distributions we should include. Redhat is
practically a given since I think everyone interested in Linux and
Open Source will have heard of it. Knoppix runs from the CD, but it
is experimental and needs a swap partition according to their site.
Still, if it runs from the CD it will provide a decent demo. I would
like to see Debian represented, and we already have the CDs in the
Library, and Libranet's interested in being a part of the project.
That puts it at three, but we don't have Slackware or Suse in the
mix. I am not a fan of either one as I had issues with Slackware and
never tried Suse. I think we should have Mandrake in the set because
it is so easy for a newbie to start with. If I had to pick three, I
would pick Redhat, Libranet, and Mandrake. If we can go with four I
would include Knoppix. I put it at forth because of the experimental
disclaimers on their site. It just doesn't look like a finished
release. I do think we need to offer a Slackware and Suse distro in
the future though.
