I always think of it in groups.  You have your productivity suite,
editors, graphics, security, web.  What about audio, p2p (if that is her
thing).  What university is she going to?  Some universities give you
your own webspace, does she have the tools to work with that if she
wants?  Also, you usually get a free pop3/imap mailbox.  Just out of
curiosity, which university is she going to?
