There is a good deal of Open Source software out there for Windoze. The only no-cost apps I used that are not Open Source were AVG (virus scnner - no-cost, closed source) and Opera. Open Office, The Gimp, and the rest are Open Source and no-cost.
Oddly enough, I send yearly donations to the Open Source software, but never buy the closed source ones. Weird huh?
