Running a free and open source software based firewall on a Win98 box 
seems to me to be a little difficult to do correctly, as the Win98 
"kernel" is closed. You would have to have a prog running that can 
inspect all packets before certain other progs get to them. I don't 
think that's possible with any M$ software. I know there are closed apps 
out there for Windoze, but I suspect they are not as robust as the 
firewalls built into the Linux and *BSD kernels.

Any thoughts? Does M$ Windows have the capability to establish a 
firewall ruleset?
