Hi John Thanks: I think it would. I have a motherboard video card which is AGP but unsupported by XFree (sis something) so I do not even have AGP nor DRI compiled, I do not really even know what that is but I guess I do not need it. It only has 8MB and it displays 1600x1200 in one monitor.
I do not do 3D nor games. The most graphic intensive work I do is GIMP which is rather CPU intensive ( filters ). Thanks for the link, I should have looked that up. I saw the first paragraph of one of the explanations and it is a 3D exclusive feature. I guess I will go with the PCI I also think that the 16Megs will also be sufficient. Anyone please jump in and correct me. I basically have ran out of space in the 21'' inch. I already have 5 virtual desktops and I think I could really use an extra monitor for the terminals. I have one virtual desktop with 3 terminals. Each terminal usually has about 3 or 4 tabs with vim sessions with an average of 5 - 10 files each. Then there is the database one which is quite a pain and the one that truly needs all the room. take care, Alvaro Zuniga On Mon, 2004-07-26 at 21:42, John Hebert wrote: > I recommend AGP and the 32MB version. > > definition of AGP > http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oi=defmore&q=define:AGP > > 32MB means you can display more pixels, but I'm not > sure if it will display 1600x1200. > > John > > --- Alvaro Zuniga <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi everyone: > > I have hear talks about the Dual Matrox G450 in the > > group.
