It's a tough call. I used to be of the opinion that since 
Intel was the lead and had been leading for a long time then
i'd just stick with what works. But lately AMD has been 
real strong. I guess it depends a lot of what you want to do
with the processor. If you want to overclock I think AMD is
probably the best bet. But if you want something rock solid
then maybe the intel. However I don't think the AMD will
have any problems with instability. For me, as far as
my customers, I suggest they buy Dell and therefore they'll
get Intel. Mostly because it's easier to support the machine
if I only have to call one place. I don't want to be 
hunting down shops to get warrantied parts from them.
I'd rather just call 1 place and so far Dell is the cheapest/
best quality. If Dell sold AMD and there was a significant
price difference in the options, then I may choose the
AMD. If there was no price difference between processor
X and Y and one was intel and one was AMD, I'd probably
buy the Intel. Just because it's what I'm used to.
