Ed, As a longtime HTPC user I must advise against MythTV. I have used it between versions 0.14 and 0.18 and have always had various problems with stability, sound being out of sync, processes going into zombie states, etc. I recommend the Hauppage PVR-150 product. You most probably don't need the built in TV-encoding feature of the PVR-350 if your video card will have suitable TV-out... not only that but I don't think that the PVR-350 supports overlay at all so all you would see is the video...not the guides or anything. I can recommend any Geforce2MX or greater (with SVideo out) for video card purposes. Andrew Andrew, Thanks for the info. If not MythTV, what are you using? With regard to sound sync, I have a set top DVD recorder and have that problem even with it. As I mentioned previously, I have MythTv set up on my regular Linux box with a Hauppauge WinTV 401 and it seems to be working well. I have not had a chance to play with it a lot though as I just got it successfully set up. I'm not in a hurry with any of this as my primary objective is to further my knowledge and use of Linux. I will do some investigation of your recommendations. Thanks, Ed This email, including any attached files, may contain confidential and privileged information.
