I've been trying to dodge this question. Why? Because I want to encourage
other groupings (especially from commons) to self-select. If I make a
proposal, then it will be an imposition.
This one is a bit of a catch-22.
I've definitely warmed to this point - we need to be encouraging people to
start talking about groupings, not to try and partition Jakarta based on
some architectual schematic.
However - if felt of ourselves as a single community - there wouldn't be
an imposition from suggesting what you wanted to do with the code that
you, as a PMC member, are responsible for (ie all of Jakarta). As it is
the suggestion that your opinion on Velocity counts for as much as
Nathan's opinion on Velocity feels unhealthy.
This is when consensus would have to come in. I could suggest Jakarta
Scripting Components:
