For those with a taste for it, Samuel R. Delany’s 1965 novel
*Babel-17*works through the Whorf-Sapir hypothesis. (Delany later
claimed he wrote it
before encountering the hypothesis, which he supposed must have been ‘in the
air’ at the time.)
