Oh - I got the wrong idea from this statement:

The intention is that the 'stats/base' addon replaces the J602 stats
packages ('~system\packages\stats\*.ijs). You should be able to use
them interchangeably. For compatibility, require 'stats' in J701
points to 'stats/base' .

However any new development will take place in the addon and will not
be reflected in the packages. From that point of view I imagine the
packages should be viewed as deprecated.

If members of the J community are aware of any J602
'~system/packages/' scripts that aren't currently available as an
Addon and should be then they should highlight that on the forum and
help create an equivalent addon for JAL.
